Tatami-beri Card Case: “Shark skin pattern”

・On this site, we create small accessories by repurposing fabric scraps left over from the production of [Kurashiki Wa-DENIM Kimono] and [Kojima Obi].

★Tatami-beri
The fabric used to decorate the edges of tatami mats. Since ancient times, Tatami-beri was permitted only for use by the nobility, and its colors and patterns were used to symbolize one’s high social status.
The Tokyo Olympic emblem was also designed with the checkered pattern in mind.
Because the same pattern continues without interruption, it embodies a wish for “prosperity.”
